DAIRY DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
The Dairy Development Manager (DDM) is responsible for developing the sales of the Farm Animal Divisions products to the dairy sector. This will be achieved through supporting the current commercial teams in a “product management” type role as well as building a network of dairy sales specialists.
The DDM will primarily be focussed on the UK market but there will be a requirement to support Irish and International subsidiaries.
Responsibilities will include :
 In-field technical support to the commercial teams (campaign launches, induction training programmes, farmers meetings, forage analysis and product recommendation).
 Attendance at key agricultural shows and congresses in all our key markets.
 Development and maintenance of relationships with agricultural colleges and institutions as well as other key opinion leaders.
 New product development
In addition, the DDM will be responsible for
 Building, coaching and motivating a team of dairy sales specialists
 Identify product opportunities to develop the dairy products portfolio.
It is furthermore the responsibility of the DDM to liaise closely with the Regional Sales Managers to ensure the commercial teams are focussed on the development of the dairy sector. The DDM must keep pace with the company’s continuing growth plan which projects that, over the next five years, the UK 2006/07 turnover will more than double. This will necessitate the management of a sales team as well as the physical management of strategic projects.
The are several other critical success factors in this key role and will include the ability to analyse market trends, identify new product opportunities and to adhere tightly to strategic plans as developed with the National Sales Manager (NSM)
